If it wasn’t for Fawn’s shaved coat and mending incision, you’d never know that not long ago she was fighting for her life. While trying to be the best mama, Fawn became dangerously ill and needed emergency surgery at Iowa State to remove a foreign body – a grass awn of all things! – in her abdomen, an expensive procedure made possible by Critter Crusaders of Cedar Rapids and our amazing Whiskers supporters. And now? She’s ready to capture your hearts all over again … as adoption material! While this tabby beauty can be a little shy at first and would prefer a quieter home, it was no time before her foster mom saw her joyful spirit shining through: “I checked the pet camera to see what she was doing while I was gone and it turns out she went straight into play mode with all the toys I left in the room. She must have had a little celebration party!” Now, Fawn doesn’t hesitate to snuggle up, accept her favorite scratches under the chin and show off how she can throw toy mice in the air to catch them again. “Fawn is literally the sweetest girl ever! Even after everything she's been through, she is such a sweetie.” Maybe she fought through it all because she’s meant to be with you?
