Our hearts broke for Elvira when she first arrived, a very pregnant cat who was unwelcome where she’d been trying to make a home outdoors, and with a severely dislocated toe that needed amputation. Even still, she was the best mama to her brood – even prone to “hugging” her kittens! – and found the courage to trust her foster family. “She is a very sweet girl that is still very unsure of life as an indoor cat,” says her foster dad. “She enjoys tucking herself away in a safe place and letting the world come to her. She is really happy to get attention, but prefers to get it in her safe spot.” One of his favorite things about her is the unique way she holds her tail draped across her back instead of up in the air – and her clear potential to be someone’s loyal companion if given a chance. “She would like a quieter place to call her home, especially with a cat friend to help show her the ropes.” Is your heart on fire for Elvira?
