Dolly

Hi! My Name Is Dolly

We're happy to tell you that Dolly has a new furever home.
Please visit our Available Cats Page to see the cats currently available.

Meet Dolly.  Her entire world has been turned upside down, and we are trying to be a light in her time of darkness.  Whiskers received a message on January 4th from the son of a lady who had suddenly and unexpectedly passed away.  Left at her home were six dogs and a number of cats.  Whiskers began to work together with Kiya Koda for a positive solution to the sad situation at hand.  Initially five of the dogs were taken to Kiya Koda but the sixth ran outside of arms reach.

The first visit Whiskers made to the property was to complete an assessment of the cats and begin to create a plan.  During this visit, Dolly made her presence known.  She is sweet, affectionate, and social.  She was taken into Whiskers care that day.  No other cats were tame enough to be picked up and placed in a carrier for safe transport.

During our second visit to the property this past weekend, the sixth dog (a Pomeranian named Sonny) let Corissa catch him, and he was safely transported into the care of Kiya Koda.  We are now coordinating our efforts with Good Shepherd Pet Alliance of Madison County for the remaining cats at this property.

Dolly had her initial vet appointment on January 9th.  She was examined, treated for ear mites, vaccinated, microchipped, and tested for feline leukemia and FIV.  She is scheduled to be spayed on January 13th and she will be able to transition into her forever home after her spay.

Her adoption fee is $100 and helps to cover a portion of her expenses (spay, rabies vaccination, FVRCCP vaccinations, flea preventative, dewormer, microchip, feline leukemia and FIV testing). If you are interested in applying to adopt Dolly, please visit the website https://whiskerstnr.org/available-cats/ and complete an adoption application. The final approval to adopt will be made after we have reviewed all submitted applications and choose the one we feel is the best match for Dolly. Photo credit to http://www.burnettphoto.com/
