On a bleak day back in January, Jersey found himself on the side of the road, unable to walk and lying among dirty chunks of snow. Thank goodness a kind passerby found him, too, and made the decision to pull over to get Jersey the help he needed. “It was obvious that this boy was pretty beat up,” recalls his foster dad. When initial X-rays showed serious fractures to his left rear leg as well as his pelvis, Whiskers TNR turned to Critter Crusaders of Cedar Rapids, who took on Jersey’s care through Iowa State University’s Hixson-Lied Small Animal Hospital. “Jersey needed extensive surgery to get everything repaired, but he is all healed up now and ready to find his forever home.” He’s an all-around great cat who can bat at balls in a circle track for hours, gets along with other felines as well as pooches, and has been the “absolute sweetest boy” from the very beginning. “Through everything that he has been through, his sweet demeanor has always shone through. He has never gotten snippy, even when in a considerable amount of pain.” Will Jersey’s long road to recovery lead to the home of his dreams with you?
