Debbie is a cat who deserves to be in the spotlight for a change. She arrived at Whiskers from a
large colony where she received limited attention from people – and she’s given her all to raising
two kittens, Lionel and Diana. Named for ‘80s crooner Debbie Gibson, she
“is certainly in her ‘electric youth,’” says her foster mom. “She is a young mom who is trying to
figure out how to care for her babies and understand why humans are around her all the time.”
But then, it’s heartwarming to watch Debbie settle in to indoor life. Her favorite hobby is
exploring her new digs, and she’s “trying so hard to trust humans.” She’s even begun purring
when accepting pets on her own terms. Debbie will need a patient adopter, but her “sweet and
tender moments” will be worth it.
