Lotus may have the friendliest, cat-next-door attitude, but we think she’s as special as her exotic flower namesake. The lotus, or water lily, takes root in the murky depths of a pond, but blooms anew every morning, its petals incredibly bright and symbolic of rebirth in some cultures. And Lotus the Whiskers kitty? Also ready for her fresh start after giving her all to raising her kittens, even while recovering from surgery and wearing that dreaded “cone of shame.” According to her foster mom, “She’s an amazing mom. Taking care of kittens consumes most of her time. If she only hears a little peep from a kitten, she’s meowing right back to let them know she’s not far.” And Lotus is attentive to her people, too, especially if they’ll give her a few head scratches or a lap to cuddle on. She's even been known to give them hugs, and wow them with her striking black coat “as soft as velvet." “Lotus is so friendly.
